Beauty Off Your Shelves

While beauty these days seems to be defined by slimming pills and plastic surgery, we all know it is too extreme and advertisers are proficient in the art of bullshit!

You don’t need to look like a carbon copy of Cindy Crawford, neither should you resort to the lamest means of digital imaging, if you know what I mean.

And, forget paying deranged amounts of money on products that could only disappoint. Case in point, you can actually go by the humblest ingredients found in your pantry, or at least, your neighborhood grocery store. Think of the amount of money you could save! And most importantly, how you could improve your skin condition.

Honey-banana mask

Honey works wonders as a moisturizer. Heat the honey till it flows easily. Pour enough of it on a mashed banana paste. Mix well and spread it over your clean face. Leave it on for 15 mins, then wash off with warm water.  [For all skin types]

Egg-white mask

In times of using just the yolks for perhaps, ice cream making, don’t let the whites feel left out. If you’re not in the mood for meringue, smear your cleansed face with raw whites, leaving it on for 10-15 mins. Rinse it off with tepid water. You should feel your skin tighten with the pores relatively smaller. [Only for oily skin types]

Vitamin mask

This definitely sounds appetizing for your skin. Stir one dessertspoon of milk, 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 egg white, and 1 dessertspoon warm honey into a creamy mass. Spread over thoroughly cleansed face, leave until set, then wash off. [Suitable for all skin types]

I hope these few affordable beauty tips have been useful. They are definitely easy on your wallet, and most definitely work.

By the way for those of you who don’t know, a dessertspoon is in between a teaspoon and a tablespoon. You are welcome! ;)
